Maxwell McCoy

Mr. E-Maxwell McCoy

Founder & CEO, ETECH DGLOB SERVICES PTY LTD

Born in 1976 at G.W. Hally Government Hospital in Sanniquellie, Nimba County, Liberia, Mr. E-Maxwell McCoy grew up in a family grounded in service and education. His father, Mr. Lawrence McCoy, was a reverend and English teacher, while his mother, Mrs. Betty McCoy, served as a dedicated nurse. From an early age, Maxwell’s life was marked by curiosity, creativity, and resilience.

Maxwell developed a deep interest in science, technology, and music during his formative years.

At just 12 years old, inspired by his father’s 1960 Volkswagen, he built his first wire toy car using scrap metal, copper wire, and tin cans – complete with working electric lights powered by torch batteries. His inventive spirit extended to music, crafting a handmade African guitar from a recycled oil can, teaching himself to play, and founding a musical group called The Abraham Children, which performed at local churches and community events.

After completing high school in Sanniquellie City, Maxwell relocated to Monrovia to pursue further education. A secondhand computer science book bought from a street vendor sparked his interest in technology. He began gaining hands-on experience at the American Embassy’s computer lab, learning tools like Lotus 1-2-3, WordPerfect, and MS-DOS. He went on to earn a certificate in Microsoft Office and networking from the Baptist Seminary Computer Institute while helping peers in internet cafés and computer schools.

In 2011, Maxwell migrated to Australia seeking new opportunities. He enrolled at RMIT University in Melbourne but had to pause his academic pursuits due to financial and family obligations. Refusing to give up, he shifted to vocational training-earning certifications in telecommunications and security from Integracom, followed by networking engineering training at Comtech.

Etech Dglob

Maxwell’s entrepreneurial journey began in a small room of his home, where he collected and repaired old computers. This modest initiative evolved into a formal business initially named EMAX AND NEL, in honor of himself and his first son. It later rebranded as ETECH DGLOB SERVICES PTY LTD, now a respected provider of advanced telecommunications and security solutions in Australia.

Today, Mr. McCoy is a proud father of four-two sons and two daughters-each pursuing their education in university and high school, with a shared passion for music and excellence. His story is one of perseverance, innovation, and a lifelong commitment to learning and service.
